Greg Gray Bio OBJECTIVE Committed to provide the Effective Assistance of Counsel to those facing the criminal and civil justice system either at the trial or appellate level, State or Federal, and at the post-conviction stage of the criminal process PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Felonies DWI/DUI Personal Injury Expungement Drug Offenses Misdemeanors After graduating from law school, Mr. Gray went to work for the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. Within eight months, he quickly worked his way up to the felony courts. During the four years he was there, he tried to a jury just about every type of criminal case there is: from hot checks to DWIs to murder trials. In fact, according to the courthouse “old timers”, he tried one of the only aggravated perjury cases to ever be tried in front of a jury at the time in Dallas County, and won. Mr. Gray was also assigned to the Organized Crime Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. In that position he was responsible for prosecuting mid - to upper-level drug cases. He was also selected by John Vance, the elected District Attorney at the time, to attend the Top Gun Course sponsored by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association. Only a handful of prosecutors throughout the state were selected each year to attend the course. Mr. Gray resigned from the District Attorneys office to work in the private sector. He went to work for one of the most prestigious personal injury firms in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. He handled cases involving medical malpractice, traumatic brain injuries, wrongful death, spinal injuries, and toxic torts, as well as other types of cases. While there, he handled several multi-million dollar cases. These results were obtained both by settlement and jury trial. Some of these cases were featured on Dateline NBC. He has also earned the highest rating a lawyer can obtain for personal injury litigation by the well-known legal directory, Martindale-Hubbell: an AV rating. (See the Martindale-Hubbell website for an explanation of the rating system.) He also continued to handle criminal cases when asked to do so. He obtained dismissals of felony indictments in two separate, very politically charged cases in Dallas County and Kaufman County. In fact, the Texas Legislature reportedly re-wrote some provisions of the Election Code, in part, as a result of the Dallas County case. Mr. Gray has spent his entire career fighting in the courts for justice. He is no stranger to trying cases in front of juries. At the same time, he appreciates the fact that your case is your life, and not just another file on the shelf. All too often lawyers think the case is about beating the lawyer on the other side, or “putting another skin on the wall”. They forget that the decisions they make will affect the lives of their clients in the future. The Gray Law Firm, P.L.L.C. handles every case with the client’s best interest in mind. EDUCATION Greg Gray graduated from The University of Texas in 1990 with a B.A. in Economics and graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1993. While at St. Mary’s, he made the Dean’s List and received the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award. He made these accomplishments while going to school full time and working fifteen to twenty-five hours per week. | ||
